Presenting Research at IST: An Update on Current and Future Work
This talk will focus on the continuing research being conducted at IST into nitrided springs. The aim of which is to be able to include two new materials into Spring Calculator Professional (SCP) in both the nitrided and un-nitrided form. Allowing spring designers to be able to see the benefits of nitriding and confidently predict the life of nitrided springs for their customers. Although testing is still ongoing, data produced so far is already showing the benefits of nitriding with regards to the life of a spring.
The talk will also include the launch of a new scheme of fatigue testing, the aim of which is to have a constant feedback loop of data to supply to IST and SCP.
